Location: York
Salary: £29,000 - £31,102.50  - Dependent on experienced and qualifications gained
Start Date:  May 2024 – Permanent position

37.5 hours per week. All year round

 
Are you a passionate and committed Manager looking for a new challenge? Yorkshire Education is looking to appoint a dedicated Out of School Club Manager for a permanent contract in York.


What skills and experience we are looking for:

1. At least two years’ proven supervisory / management experience working in an early year’s care and education setting or at least two years’ other suitable experience.

 

2. Level 3 and 4 early years’ education and childcare qualification or equivalent, preferably with a

commitment to obtaining a level 5 qualification. English and Math’s GCSE.

 

3. Ability to ensure that the setting achieves and maintains an outstanding Ofsted rating.

 

4. Sound understanding of child development, and of children’s needs.

 

5. Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.

 

6. Demonstrable and detailed knowledge of current legislation relevant to the early years and the ability to comply with the requirements placed on the setting by the Early Years Statutory Framework and Welfare Requirements.

 

7. Ability to work with parents and families to encourage their involvement.

 

8. Ability to effectively market the setting to maximise occupancy levels and fee income and maintain the pre-schools charitable financial stability.

 

9. Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of adults, including conducting performance management processes e.g. induction, supervision meetings, appraisals and setting objectives.

 

10. Demonstrate a commitment to continuously promoting a culture of safeguarding.

 

13. Commitment to equal opportunities and an understanding of equality and diversity issues.

 

14. Ability to write clear reports to share and discuss with the Trustees on a regular basis.

 

Desirable criteria:

  1. Level 5 or above early years education and childcare qualification, a degree relating to early childhood studies.

  2. Qualified Teaching Status with relevant 2 year old experience / EYITT WITH EYTS status.

 

3. Up to date training in relevant certificates (First Aid, Safeguarding, SENCO)

  • Demonstrate an understanding of planning and facilitating an outstanding environment based upon the Early Years Statutory Framework for children alongside sound knowledge of the Playwork Principles.

  • Maintain exceptional levels of play-led childcare and ensure the provision reflects this.

  • Ensure staff feel supported and valued in their roles.

  • Achieve compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and organised person who can work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

  • Build upon strong parent/carer, local community and school relationships.
