Our first CPD session of the year with Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance was a huge success!

Thank you to all the teachers who attended our first Primary CPD session of the year last night and a huge thanks to Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance for putting on this session.

The CPD evening which was held at Archbishop Holgates School was a great success. It was hugely engaging and received extremely positive feedback from all that attended.

The twilight session was on Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Grammar which highlighted key changes within the national curriculum regarding Grammar across Y1- Y6. Alison, who led the CPD session, demonstrated excellent example materials and resources that could be used on supply and looked at the idea of an emergency supply resource pack. Key topics that pupils consistently struggle with was also covered. This included semi-colons, subordinate clauses and the subjunctive. Another thing which was covered, was numerous ideas for grammar games in class for starter activities.

We are very grateful to be working with Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for our supply teachers to receive CPD that otherwise would not be available to them. We believe our teachers deserve the training that teachers employed permanently would benefit from.

We are already looking forward to the next CPD session which is for secondary teachers. The session will be on Behaviour for Learning which was a popular choice for our supply staff. If you haven’t booked onto this or you’re wanting more information regarding the CPD we offer, make sure you get in touch with us.
