The 2017 Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival was a huge success

This weekend we attended the 2017 Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival which we were sponsoring. We had a great time seeing all the dances performed by many schools. It was a fantastic event to raise the profile of arts/ dance provision in schools and celebrate pupils’ achievements.

The performances were from a range of both primary and secondary schools in York, Ripon, Harrogate, Skipton, Hull, Leeds and Wakefield. The performances all had to follow the theme which was ‘freedom’. There were various takes on this from, showing the suffragettes’ struggle for the freedom to vote, to dances which showed the freedom to express yourself.

There was a fantastic turnout on both days with the auditorium being full. A huge well done to everyone who was involved in organising such a great event. We were very proud to be involved with the 2017 Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival.
