Our first CPD session of the academic year with Pathfinder TSA was a huge success!

Thank you to all the teachers who attended our first CPD session of the academic year last night and a huge thanks to Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance for putting on this session.

The CPD evening which was held at Archbishop Holgates School was a great success. It was hugely engaging and received extremely positive feedback from all that attended.

The twilight session was on Phonics which included phonics subject knowledge and an overview of progression in phonics and national expectations. It also covered recommended core teaching activities and resources and ways to promote application of phonics into reading and spelling. The expectation by the end of Y1 is that children will be secure at Phonics Phase 5 or above in decoding and spelling, decoding fluently and spelling many words automatically by the end of Y2.

We are very grateful to be working with Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for our supply teachers to receive CPD that otherwise would not be available to them. We believe our teachers deserve the training that teachers employed permanently would benefit from.

We are already looking forward to the next CPD session which is for primary and secondary which is on Anger. If you haven’t booked onto this or you’re wanting more information regarding the CPD we offer, make sure you get in touch with us.
