Last night’s CPD ‘Behaviour for Learning’

Last night we had another excellent CPD session thanks to Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance. Thank you to all the teachers and support staff who attended the CPD.

The CPD evening which was held at Archbishop Holgates School was a great success. It was hugely engaging and received positive feedback from all. One of our supply staff had said “It was good with some helpful ideas”. Another had said, “Definitely felt I learnt something new. Steve was really good and helpful”.

The twilight session was ‘Behaviour for Learning’ and was delivered by Steve Lever who works at Archbishop Holgates School. The session included looking into what bad behaviour is and why pupils misbehave. They looked at classroom expectations and discussed useful strategies which can be used in the classroom. Supply staff also looked at what makes a good teacher and the importance of positive reinforcement.

We are very grateful to be working with Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for our supply teachers to receive CPD that otherwise would not be available to them. We believe our teachers deserve the training that teachers employed permanently would benefit from.

We are already looking forward to the next CPD sessions which are on Anger & Self Harm in June. If you want to book onto these courses or want more information, make sure you get in touch with us.
