CPD - Behaviour for Learning

On Wednesday night we had another excellent CPD session thanks to Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance. Thank you to all the teachers and support staff who attended the CPD.

The CPD evening which was held at Archbishop Holgates School was a great success. It was hugely engaging and received positive feedback from all.

The twilight session was ‘Behaviour for Learning’ and was delivered by David York. The session included looking into the different approaches to teaching

and the importance of positive reinforcement. They also had a look at how important it is to show care to ensure relationship building, but not encroach on personal space. David spoke about consistency in teaching and remaining calm and collected. The last thing which was delivered was the importance of subtle discipline and not always stopping the progress of the whole class for the sake of 2 or 3 that are misbehaving.

We are very grateful to be working with Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for our supply teachers to receive CPD that otherwise would not be available to them. We believe our teachers deserve the training that teachers employed permanently would benefit from.

We are already looking forward to the next CPD sessions which are on talk less teaching and SEN. If you want to book onto these courses or want more information, make sure you get in touch with us.
