Teacher Registrations: How to stand out when signing up with Yorkshire Education.

This is where you go through the process of being interviewed for work with Yorkshire Education.

It involves a chat to go through: What you are looking for, an explanation of how Yorkshire Education works, and a check of your qualifications to make sure you can work in a classroom setting. Don’t worry if you are missing a DBS or a safeguarding certificate as we can help you with this.

Making the right impression at your registration is important as it helps you get noticed by the recruitment consultants. They have the relationships with the schools and by conducting yourself well, helps you get work for the increasing number of bookings they take.

Claire Binns, Office Manager at Yorkshire Education says: “The registration is the first time we get to meet you and we are always excited to find out what you are looking for and how Yorkshire education can help, whether you are a teacher, teaching assistant or nursery practitioner.”

We are looking for people who are not only qualified in their profession but also have the relevant experience and references to support this. The NQTs that are qualifying are gaining lots of valuable experience from their placements. Some student teachers have completed three placements which is fantastic and really gives them lots to talk about. This shows us you are skilled and makes you stand out when we are placing teachers for the school bookings we get.

Tell us about the extra roles and responsibilities you have taken. What did you do? What did you enjoy? What did you achieve? It’s interesting to discover how our teachers have impacted people in the classroom as it helps us remember you.

Another way to get noticed is to send a thank-you email after the registration to the person you have been in email communication with for their helpfulness. This helps to create a rapport with the consultants who are placed in the position of finding you the work.

After your first booking we want to make sure you and the school are happy so we will contact you following this to find out how your day went. It’s great when our candidates enjoy the school, so make sure you let us know.”
