Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Year 6 1:1 & Sports Intervention)

Are you enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning and passionate about sports? Yorkshire Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a York Primary School starting February 2026. 

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.

In this role, you will:

• Provide 1:1 support in Year 6 during the mornings, helping a pupil to achieve their full potential.

• Lead sports intervention sessions in the afternoons, setting up small activities for students to engage in.

A formal sports qualification is not required, but a keen interest in sports and physical activity is highly recommended.

What skills and experience we are looking for:

• Experience working with children in a school setting (preferred)

• Ability to motivate and engage pupils in both academic and physical activities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
