Teaching Assistant (SEN Provision)
Location: Bedale & Ripon
Salary: £88.92 – £95.00 per day (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract
Start Date: Monday 5th January 2026 – Friday 27nd March 2026

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and committed to making a positive impact? Yorkshire Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work within an SEN provision for Ascent Trust, based in Bedale and Ripon.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, working with pupils who have a range of differing needs. The role will include providing personal care, and while experience in this area is preferred, full training will be provided for the right candidate.

In this role, you will:

• Support pupils with complex needs, including autism (70% of pupils are autistic).

• Assist with personalised learning plans, as most pupils work at EYFS academic level.

• Use specialist techniques such as physical touch (e.g., deep pressure) to help regulate pupils.

• Ensure a safe and      nurturing environment in a non-mainstream school setting.

What skills and experience we are looking for:

• Experience working with children with SEN (preferred)

• Willingness to provide personal care and learn new techniques

• Ability to adapt and respond to individual learning needs

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
