Job Title: 1:1/General Teaching Assistant

Salary: £88.92-£95  

Job Type: Full time   

Start Date: January 2026  

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming  and supportive primary school located in Thirsk. This is a full-time position starting in January  2026, working across all year groups/  This varied and rewarding role includes a combination of 1:1 support and general classroom  assistance.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full  potential.  

• Assist the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of engaging lessons.  

• Support the learning and development of all pupils in the classroom.  

• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.  

• Contribute to the planning and delivery of fun, safe, and stimulating activities in the After  School Club.  

• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.  Requirements:  

• Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly in Key Stage 2.  

• A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.  

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.  

• Ability to adapt to the needs of individual pupils.  

• A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not  essential.
