Working in a school can be highly rewarding and you don’t have to be a qualified teacher. Schools especially need Cover Supervisors and Teaching Assistants.

Cover Supervisors- This is a fantastic way to gain classroom experience if you are intending going into a career in teaching or you would like to work with children or young people.

Cover Supervisor role:

• Hand out pre-set work to the students

• Manage the classroom & behaviour of the students

• Follow the schools disciplinary procedures

• Be professional and punctual at all times

• You must be confident enough to manage a classroom by yourself

Teaching Assistants- Both primary and secondary schools need TAs! This is ideal for anyone who likes working with children or young people.

Teaching Assistant role:

• Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils

• Supporting pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities

• Helping teachers in the classroom with group activities
